Dr Karen Breen MD, MRCPI, FRCPath
Consultant Haematologist, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation
Dr Breen is a Consultant Haematologist with a Specialist interest in Thrombosis at Guys and St.Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London. She commenced appointment to this post in February 2012.
Prior to this, she was a Clinical Fellow at Guys and St.Thomas’ and conducted research in the field of Thrombosis leading to an MD during this time. She undertook higher specialist training in Haematology in Ireland.
Dr Breen's main area of clinical interest is in Thrombosis and am currently lead of the Anticoagulation and Acute Thrombosis services at Guys and St.Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She is a member of the Thrombosis and Thromboprophylaxis Committee, Anticoagulation Incident Review Committee at GSTT, and report to the Trust Medicines Safety Forum on a quarterly basis on anticoagulation related incidents. She is also lead for Undergraduate Haematology teaching at Guys and St.Thomas’ (affiliated to Kings College, London),
She is currently involved in several clinical trials and in translational research.
